About Us

The annual Ashura Day Procession in London was first established in 1989 by the Islamic Universal Association and is supported by various Islamic centres across the city and the UK .

The procession marks the day of Ashura when Hussain grandson of Prophet Muhammad was brutally killed along with his family members and companions in 680 AD. The day of Ashura is observed by Muslims across the world.

Every year the event brings together thousands of people from diverse backgrounds to commemorate the martyrdom of Hussain and uphold the values Hussain stood for.
